Dear Friend,
Thank you so much for showing an interest in CarePlus and the work carried out by our dedicated volunteers in the London Borough of Bromley.
CarePlus was founded in 1987 by several Bromley-based churches. As a charity, we provide a voluntary service to older members of the local community (65+) who require a little bit of extra support, whether it be a helping hand with their weekly shop, a lift to a hospital appointment or even just befriending.
For some, being old can be difficult and lonely. Often a little extra help can maintain an individual’s standard of living, enabling them to stay in their own home for longer.
CarePlus was founded in Bromley and it continues to serve exclusively within the Borough. As such we do not have the same level of funding or operations that many national charities benefit from. We are wholly dependent upon the support of the local community.
The difficult current financial situation has deeply impacted the whole of the voluntary sector but CarePlus is remaining resilient. We are seeking long-term, sustainable flows of income and one such initiative is our Friends of CarePlus scheme.
For as little as £5 per month you can become a Friend of CarePlus, helping the charity to consolidate, grow and further serve the local community. We realise that times are tough and that not everyone can afford to give, but if you can we would be incredibly grateful.
In addition, demand for our services is constantly growing and so if you have a spare hour or so each week to support an older person in the community, please consider joining the charity as a volunteer – we would love to hear from you.

Please download the attached form, complete it and send the original to our office at 9 Park Avenue, Bromley BR1 4EF.
You will then receive a letter and membership card from our Chairman, Rob Leitch in return. We will also keep you up-to-date with upcoming coffee mornings and regular newsletters.
