Welcome to Careplus
Careplus is a local charity that provides a free volunteer support service to older people in the London Borough of Bromley.
Our work supports older people to participate in the community, maintain independence and stay active and healthy.
We believe that older people prefer to remain in their own homes if at all possible but that they sometimes need a little help to make this a reality.
Our dedicated team of volunteers provide help with everyday tasks like shopping, gardening, transport to medical appointments and personal administration.
Our volunteers also befriend older people who are finding it difficult to get out of the house and feeling lonely.
Gilbert and Sullivan Evening
Friday, 30th September 2016
St John the Evangelist Church
Park Road, Bromley BR1 3HJ
The Careplus Gilbert and Sullivan evening performed by the Grim’s Dyke professional opera group was greatly enjoyed by over a hundred people.
The group were very entertaining and the music absolutely wonderful with outstanding singing.
Many compliments were received from guests.
In the interval drinks were served with sandwiches and other finger foods which was much appreciated.
Anyone wishing to catch up with the group can visit and stay at the Grim’s Dyke Hotel (Best Western) where they can choose from a variety of entertainment including, of course, Gilbert and Sullivan.
Many thanks to Revd. Andrew McClellan for sharing St. John's Place Road, Bromley with us, also the Grim’s Dyke group and the girls who worked so hard in providing the food.
The Bromley Rotary Club pays for Careplus' First Day Trip Out to Penshurst Place.
On the Friday 17th July a group of 9 clients and 4 volunteers travelled to Penshurst Place by minibus, where they spent time in the beautiful gardens, explored the Toy Museum, Baron Hall and other historic rooms.
They then enjoyed each others company over a delicious lunch in the Garden Restaurant a quick stop at the gift shop and then home again.
Hopefully the first of many more day trips.
